Techno tastemaker Rødhåd brings red-hot Polygonia to their private label, WSNWG, for a subtly crafted masterclass in the genre. It’s a technical beauty to be savored on repeat. For something a little less tightly wound, try some of the dancefloor grooves from Konduku, Surusinghe, and Katatonic Silentio, not to mention this year’s second release from Kapsela, where Objekt—one of the most compelling DJs of this decade—has now become one of its most compelling label heads too. It’s a beautiful thing, as Sepehr proves on Fool’s Ovation.
There’s some extremely impressive footwork from both an old head and a new one. Delia Beatriz, a.k.a. Debit, moves on from their previous explorations of musique concrète into something with a more concrete beat, while Ricardo Villalobos does what they do best, mixing up something special.
